You know it's a good book when you cry just as hard on the sixth read as you did on the first. (Here's looking at you, Dobby the House Elf)
I discovered this book, and Mira Grant/Seanan Mcguire by literally judging a book by its cover. I was walking through the library one day, and the cover caught my eye. I read the back, as one does, and was immediately intrigued. Zombies and reporters, what's not to lover? Turns out the series is more political thriller with some zombies thrown in. I'm not usually a political thriller kind of gal, but this one had me hooked. I've read it half a dozen times, and I'll almost certainly read it half a dozen more. Probably every four years, actually.
It's particularly fun reading it now (April 2020) because of the whole virus/election thing going on. Some of the lines in the book read so true it is both funny and scary.
I've been sitting on this post awhile trying to think of something more to say, but nothing I can think of does it justice. I'm not going to sit here and type out a synopsis. There are plenty of those on the internet. The thing is, this is one of those books you just have to read for yourself. Take the time. You won't regret it.
